We have this mantle piece above the fireplace over a wall of brick in our apartment. And since we moved in, my husband has been asking me to paint something large for that space. I bought a huge canvas 6 months ago, but finally finished this oil painting a few days ago. I am a procrastinator.
I applied a wash for the background first. And below is the completed painting. I used oil only. This is my first large scale oil painting. I think I could do better though. Scroll below to see how it looks in my living space.
